Kids love treats and there is no better way to make such baked treats other than getting them involved in the preparation and baking process. While there are lots of options for baked foods to consider, it is important, to begin with, the simpler ones they can easily master before introducing the more complex baked foods to them. Remember, you must not let your toddler handle the baking alone, you still have to teach them how to set oven temperatures and even mix the ingredients proportionately. The following are some of the simple recipes children would love to learn;

The Leaf Cookies

Perhaps the Leaf cookie will be the perfect recipe to start baking with children. You can add different food colorings to make the cookies more fascinating, for instance, the colors of the flag of the United Kingdom will be a great addition.

You can get as many as 20 cookies from this recipe and it takes just 40 minutes to prepare and bake. The ingredients needed here are;

To make the Leaf cookies, simply preheat the oven to about 350F degree, and place the cookie dough into a large bowl and mix together with the flour. Divide the dough into 4 separate bowls and dye them in different colors. Get a large bowl and then combine all dough. Roll out the dough to about ½” of thickness on a lightly floured surface with the use of a rolling pin, and use cookie cutters to cut the leaf out.  Place the cookie on a parchment-lined baking sheet with cookies separated at an inch apart, and then bake in the oven for about 10 minutes until cookies turn golden brown. Let them cool off before serving.
