Behind the Blog: The Real Life at Terri’s Little Haven

When people imagine the life of a lifestyle blogger, they often picture perfectly curated coffee cups, an immaculate workspace, and someone effortlessly typing away while soft music plays in the background. But real life at Terri’s Little Haven is a little less filtered and a lot more fun. Now, don’t get me wrong, I have the coffee and the music, but the rest? Well, let’s just say reality looks a little different behind the scenes at Terri’s Little Haven.

The truth? Running this blog is equal parts creativity, caffeine, chaos, and cracker crumbs.

The Morning “Routine” That’s Never Routine

Every day begins with the best of intentions. I wake up with a mental list of everything I’m going to accomplish. Then the dog needs to be let out. And the cats decide to practice parkour off the couch. Of course I realized I forgot to charge my laptop. And let’s not even talk about when the Wi-Fi goes on strike. By the time I sit down, it’s already snack o’clock.

Let’s Talk Snacks

I’m not saying snacks are the most important part of blogging… but they’re absolutely the most important part of blogging. Creative inspiration is best served with kettle corn, mini muffins, or a handful of trail mix, I pretend is healthy. I’ve been known to build an entire afternoon of productivity around a particularly good snack plate. The photos may be digital, but the snack crumbs are very real.

The Idea Factory (AKA My Brain at 2 A.M.)

People ask where I get all my blog ideas, and the answer is: everywhere. In the shower. While folding laundry. At the grocery store checkout. Usually, when I can’t find a pen. I’ve drafted full paragraphs in my head while brushing my teeth. I’ve even typed blog titles into my phone with one hand while stirring spaghetti sauce with the other. You can’t force inspiration, but you can catch it if you stay alert and carry snacks.

Blogging Is Beautiful Chaos

The beauty of blogging is that it allows me to create something magical out of everyday moments. But behind every cozy home decor post or product review is a slightly frazzled woman trying to remember where she saved that image file or which tab has the draft that didn’t auto-save. I’ve had photo shoots interrupted by barking dogs, glitter spills, and once, a squirrel fight outside my window that completely derailed my train of thought.

Tech Hiccups and Late-Night Genius

Tech problems are my not-so-secret nemesis. Just when I think I’ve figured something out, a plugin breaks or a theme update decides it’s time to party. But there’s something oddly satisfying about working through the mess. Some of my best content has come together in the quiet hours of the night, lit by a scented candle and fueled by a bowl of popcorn that may or may not be shared with the cat.

Why I Keep Going (Even on the Snackless Days)

As messy and unpredictable as it all is, I wouldn’t trade it. Terri’s Little Haven is a reflection of everything I love—home, heart, family, comfort, and creativity. It’s where I get to share not just tips and ideas, but also my own voice, however snack-crumb-covered it may be.

So if you ever wondered what it’s really like to run this cozy corner of the internet, just picture a woman typing with one hand, holding a coffee cup in the other, and balancing a plate of crackers on her knee while a dog snores at her feet. That’s the magic of blogging, Terri-style.

And yes, snacks are always required.
