Saturdays at the Haven

There’s something magical about Saturdays at the Haven. Maybe it’s the way the sunlight filters through the blinds like it has nowhere to be, or maybe it’s just the knowledge that for one blissful day, we can hit snooze without guilt.

At Terri’s Little Haven, Saturdays are for slow living, soft blankets, second cups of coffee, and the kind of peace that only shows up when you stop chasing it.

The Coffee Comes First

Before anything else, there’s coffee. Not just any coffee, but the coffee—brewed just right in my favorite mug with the chipped handle I refuse to replace. The house is quiet, the fur babies are still yawning, and the world feels like it’s waiting for me to decide the pace.

Sometimes I journal. Sometimes I scroll through Pinterest for inspiration. Sometimes I just sit and listen to nothing at all. That first hour is mine, and I hold it close.

A Little Bit of Everything

Once the caffeine settles in, I start dabbling. I water my houseplants and talk to them like we’re old friends. I might do a small load of laundry or clear out a drawer that’s been haunting me all week. Nothing rushed, nothing too serious. Saturday chores don’t feel like chores when you’re doing them in your fuzzy socks and softest tee.

I float from one little project to another, often halfway through one when another idea pops up. The best part? There’s no pressure to finish any of it. This is my putter-around day.

Brunch Time

Eventually, I wander into the kitchen and decide it’s brunch time. Maybe it’s eggs and toast or maybe it’s just cereal in a pretty bowl. Sometimes I go all out with pancakes and berries. Either way, I eat slow and soak up the quiet, planning the rest of the day in my head or catching up on emails if I’m feeling productive.

Cozy Content Creation

Afternoons are for creativity. This is when I take blog photos, jot down future post ideas, and play with products I want to share. All in comfy clothes, usually still in what I woke up wearing. Being productive in pajamas is my kind of success story.

I might style a corner for a photo, write a paragraph or two for a blog post, or brainstorm with a cup of tea nearby. If it feels fun, I do it. If it doesn’t, I save it for Monday.

Afternoon Unwinding

Around mid-afternoon, the couch starts calling. This is my recharge time. Maybe I watch a movie, maybe I nap, maybe I just stare out the window with a snack in hand. This part of the day isn’t scheduled, and that’s exactly how I like it.

Evenings at Home

When the sun goes down, the coziness cranks up. Candles get lit, lights get soft, and I make something easy for dinner—or grab takeout if the mood hits. I settle in with a book, a show, or a warm drink and let the day gently wrap up.

The Best Kind of Day

Saturday doesn’t have to be eventful to be beautiful. For me, it’s about creating space to breathe, dream, and do nothing if I want to. It’s about being present and grateful for the little things—a warm mug, a soft blanket, the sound of my home being still.

So that’s my Saturday at the Haven. What’s yours like? I’d love to hear about the little things that bring you joy.

Until next time.
Terri
