Y’all. Let’s have a heart-to-heart about this little thing called wellness. It seems like everywhere you look, somebody is selling a secret potion or a fancy gadget promising to turn you into a glowing unicorn of health. But let me tell you a secret that the wellness industry probably doesn’t want you to know. Feeling good every day doesn’t require a magic wand, a $200 smoothie, or a gym membership that costs more than my mortgage.
It’s about small, simple choices. The kind that sneak up on you and make you wonder how you ever lived without them.
Morning Routines that Don’t Make You Want to Cry
I used to think the perfect morning routine had to be a perfectly curated Instagram moment. Meditation, yoga, green juice, the whole nine yards. Spoiler alert. That lasted all of two days. What works for me is a slow morning with my coffee in hand, a few deep breaths by an open window, and making a to-do list that doesn’t make me feel like I’m being punished.
If it’s realistic and doable, it’s a win. That’s wellness, Terri style.
Move That Body, Even if It’s Just a Wiggle (or a Slow Stretch)
Let me be clear. I am not out here running marathons or turning my living room into a dance floor. Some days, moving my body means a slow stretch while I’m sitting in my chair or gently rolling my shoulders to shake off the stiffness. Other days, it’s standing up for a few minutes to enjoy a deep breath by the window.
Movement doesn’t have to be fast or fancy. It just needs to be a little moment where you connect with your body and remind it you’re still friends. Wellness isn’t about speed. It’s about moving in a way that feels good to you, no matter how big or small.
Eat Like You Love Yourself, Not Like You’re Punishing Yourself
I have zero interest in eating kale chips that taste like sadness. I’m a firm believer in nourishing your body with food that makes you happy and fuels you too. Balance is the magic word here. Some days that looks like a fresh salad with everything but the kitchen sink. Other days, it’s a slice of chocolate cake because life is short and cake is delicious.
Listen to your body. It knows what it’s doing.
Sleep Is Not Optional, Darling
I know, I know. It’s tempting to binge-watch an entire season of your favorite show in one night. But can we all agree that sleep is the ultimate luxury? Nothing recharges you like a good night’s rest. My secret? I treat my bedtime routine like a spa night. Cozy pajamas, a good book, and a bedroom that feels like a little haven of peace.
No screens. No emails. Just me and my dreams of owning a llama farm.
Mental Wellness is Half the Battle
Taking care of your mind is just as important as caring for your body. I like to give myself permission to unplug from the chaos every once in a while. That could mean journaling, having a heart-to-heart with a friend, or even just sitting quietly and watching the clouds.
It’s not about being perfect. It’s about being kind to yourself when life feels messy.
Wellness is a Journey, Not a Destination

I am not a wellness guru. I’m a regular person who loves her family, her home, and a good slice of pie. And that’s exactly why I’m sharing this with you. Wellness doesn’t have to be complicated. It’s a daily choice to take care of yourself in small, meaningful ways.
You don’t need to overhaul your life. You just need to start with one tiny step. Maybe it’s drinking more water. Maybe it’s putting on your favorite song and having a three-minute solo dance party (or stretching in your chair like me). The point is, you’re worth it.
And that, my friends, is the real secret to feeling good every day.
