A quick guide to looking after your mental health

Do you feel as though you have several unhealthy habits? If so then you need to make sure that you do something about them right now. If you don’t then you may find that they go on to affect your life, which is the last thing you need.

Not Drinking Water

A very bad habit that you need to make sure that you avoid if possible, is not drinking enough water. You have to remember that your body is made up of 60% water, so it’s not surprising to see that it is a major contributor to your health. Keeping up with fluids is the best way for you to keep your skin supple, and it also helps you cool down when it’s hot. It allows your muscles and your joints to work as they should and you may find that it helps to flush your kidneys too. So, how much water should you be trying to drink? As a general rule, you should be having 13 cups a day. This can be hard to do, so one way for you to make it easier on yourself would be for you to try and take a water flask with you when you’re on the go. Try and aim to drink one to two cups an hour, and refill it whenever you can to make sure you’re not getting dehydrated.

Not Working Out

Believe it or not, working out is one of the best things you can do for your body. Physical activity has so many benefits, as it can help you to strengthen your bones and it can also help you with your heart. If you find it hard to workout because you are overweight then this is understandable. With that being said, home workouts are a good way to go. If you get out of breath because you smoke then one way for you to work around this would be for you to avoid smoking. Not Sleeping

Not sleeping is a major issue. If you don’t sleep well then you may find that you end up getting more tired than you should during the day, and that you end up harming your health as well. If you want to help yourself here then you need to make sure that you are getting a full 9 hours at night. If you don’t want to put yourself at risk then you need to make sure that you wind down before you go to bed. YOu also need to dim the lights and make sure that you don’t put the television on. If you do, or if you find that you are always looking through your phone then this will make it very difficult for you to get the deep sleep you need, and you may find that you end up waking up more as a result. Reading a book is the best thing to do before bed, so treat yourself.
