Camping is all about enjoying nature, hiking, taking photos, and having fun. But, you need some form of illumination when the sun goes down. Whether you’re glamping or roughing it, LED lights are the perfect way to get your glow on when you’re out in the wild. Here are a few suggestions on how you can use LEDs to enhance your next camping trip.

1. Stay safe

Use LED driving lights to stay safe en route to your camping destination. They’ll get you through fog, hail, rain, and any other weather conditions you might come across. LEDs don’t take a lot of energy either, and they’re super easy to install.

2. Let the festivities begin

Most campers don’t really associate fairy lights with camping. But, fairy LED lights can add a festive vibe to your camping setup. Hang them up on your tent or van’s exterior to create a beautiful outline that can also help to deter wild animals.

If your annual family camping trip is around Christmas, you may want to consider an LED laser light. This light works great when placed behind a tree, as it creates a dazzling iridescent light show.

It also comes with different settings that allow you to produce any effect you want. This includes a rotating function that diffuses light through all of the trees, creating a psychedelic kaleidoscope of color.

Alternatively, opt for an LED rope light that’s easier to mount and features a much softer, more natural glow. You can also dim it down if you’d like to create a romantic ambiance as you dine beneath the stars.

The best part about LED rope lights is that they’re built tough with a waterproof exterior that can withstand all climates. You can take them with you anywhere and mount them either inside or outside of your tent, van, or RV.

3. Go solar

LED solar lights are a popular option with outdoor enthusiasts because they operate without the need for batteries. They’re also low-maintenance, durable, and good for the environment. You can find them in different variations, including LED solar pathway lights, which you can use to mark the paths around your camping site.

4. Keep the bugs away

It’s scientifically proven that the closer you get to red on the light spectrum, the less likely bugs will be able to see the light. Pure red light doesn’t work because it’s not bright enough to see. Orange is the perfect middle ground that’ll help to keep insects at bay.

Just hook it up to your existing LED lights and watch the bugs disappear.

5. The good old lantern

The lantern has always been a steady companion for camping enthusiasts. But, LED outdoor lanterns are different. They’re brighter and can illuminate a larger surface area than other models. They’re also portable and easy to use since most units are solar-powered with a backup USB charger.

Since it’s lightweight and easy to carry, the LED camping lantern is the perfect replacement for candles and kerosene lamps, which is what most people use in the absence of a more reliable light source.

Whether you’re an adventurous thrill-seeker or someone who enjoys camping every now and then, it doesn’t hurt to pack some extra light. LEDs are perfect for camping because they’re reliable, efficient, and extremely durable. They work wirelessly and will last for decades, even with regular use. They’re also battery-powered, which means you won’t have to worry about power sockets and such.
