If you weigh 200 pounds, you can actually burn 205 calories in 30 minutes. Gardening is also a fabulous way to tone and strengthen your muscles.

Playing with your kids is not only good for the family, but it actually burns calories, depending on the activity. Running around and being boisterous can burn 120 to 175 calories every 30 minutes. Simple activities like playing a board game or cards will burn up to 60 calories in 30 minutes. However, most games last more than 30 minutes, especially Monopoly. Playing a board game for three hours will burn around 350 calories.
