5 Steps To Finding And Moving To The Perfect Home

Moving and finding the perfect home can be exciting, stressful, and very tiresome, but if you take it step by step, hopefully you can reduce the feelings of stress and worry and just have fun with your home. If you are planning a move this year, here are a few steps to finding and moving to the perfect home. I hope this helps you on your journey to finding a house that you love:

5 Steps To Finding And Moving To The Perfect Home

Research Areas

Your first step is to research potential home areas. Maybe you already know where you want to live, or at least you THINK you do. If that is the case, make sure you at least keep an open mind going into your house hunting journey. My friend spent close to a year house hunting and she wanted one specific area, but when she finally went outside of that specific area, she found the home of her dreams. Even if you think that you might not like an area, I would still at least be open to it because you just never know. Make sure that you do check out crime rates in each area that you are considering, though. While Atlanta is (overall) a great place to live, there are some not-so-nice areas, so just keep that in mind.

Find Your Home

Once you find a location (or locations) that you want to house hunt in, your next step is to find a house that you love! Make a checklist of all the things that you need in a home first. These are your must-haves. Then, make a list of the things you want. These are great perks to have in a home. Give this list to everyone helping you search for a home, including your real estate agent.

Do Any Needed Renovations

Once you find a home and close on it, start any needed renovations before you move in. This way, you will get everything done and you won’t have any dust on your items. For example, my friend Alex, who I talked about earlier, had her popcorn ceilings removed before she moved in. She said that a lot of people remove them down the road, after they move in, but their house was covered in dust. Removing their popcorn ceilings before they moved in was a great decision because if they would have waited, there would have been dust everywhere – all over their furniture. Before they moved in, they had their house deep cleaned and also had their air ducts cleaned. I highly recommend doing them before moving in, especially if you are redoing your floors, ceilings, or any other intense renovation work (such as redoing a kitchen, adding on to the home, etc.).

Make Your Move Easy

Make your move easy by hiring a moving company to do the work for you. This way, you are able to actually enjoy your move instead of stressing about packing and lifting a lot of heavy items during your move, possibly risking hurting yourself during the process. Instead, hire a company such as Atlanta Peach Movers. Their mission is to make relocating and moving a red carpet experience for every single customer. They love to anticipate and meet their customers’ needs by employing an impeccably trained staff. They use the latest equipment and technology, which allows them to make each move a breeze. Atlanta Peach Movers is “Atlanta, Georgia’s premier full service moving company. With over 30 years of proven experience in the Atlanta area, a fleet of 38 vehicles and thousands of satisfied customers, we are your first choice for local, regional, national and even international moves.”

Meet Your Neighbors

Last but not least, and one of my favorite parts about moving is meeting your new neighbors. Hopefully you get great neighbors and you will immediately hit it off with them! When you move into your new neighborhood, go on a walk throughout your neighborhood and maybe pop by to introduce yourself to everyone! I am sure that they will really appreciate that and it will get your new move experience started on the right foot.
