Awesome Ways to Make Money when Decluttering your Home

Do you have a lot of stuff lying around your home? If so then you can make some serious money from it. If you want to learn about all the ways you can turn your junk into cash then this is the guide for you.

Return Items

Do you have some items lying around your home that you need to return? Even if you cannot get your money back right now, you can get some store credit so you can buy something you intend to actually use. Coming across new items while you are decluttering can be frustrating, as you may find things that you intended to return but didn’t or items that you simply forgot about. If this has been the case for you then there are a few things you can do to stop this from happening again. First of all, you need to set up a place near your entryway so you can place any items that you do need to return. You can also put an alarm on your phone, so you can alert yourself as to when the return window is closing.

Sell Online

If you have a lot of stuff lying around, then why not think about selling it online? There are plenty of sites out there that you can use to try and maximize your returns as well. If you are stuck as to what sites you should be selling through then you can always resort to Facebook marketplace. You can also meet up with potential buyers, as long as it is in a safe location.  If you do sell your items then make sure that you post clear pictures and that you communicate with any buyers who may be interested. If you can do this then you will soon find that you are able to make some decent money.

Have a Yard Sale

If you have a lot of unwanted items around the home then another thing you can do is have a yard sale. The great thing about having a yard sale is that you will have a deadline for decluttering your space and you also have a good way to get everything out in a single weekend. Be aware that when you have a yard sale, people may try and haggle with you. If this bothers you then you may want to opt for another option. You will also want to have a plan for what you are going to do with any items you may have left over.

Check for Money

As you go through the drawers, the cabinets, and the shelves in your home, you may come across gift cards, cash, and cheques. Be sure to check everything here as you never know what you might have tucked away. You also need to sort through any clothes or purses you may want to throw away. Just make sure that you check the pockets properly. One way for you to help yourself here would be for you to call the number on the back of any gift cards you find, so you can find out how much balance is left on the card. If you don’t intend on using the card then you can always sell it and get some cash back. If you come across gold or jewelry, remember, you may be able to get more money if you sell it to gold and diamond buyers

Price up Collectibles

If you have a ton of stuff lying around then you may not think that any of it is worth anything. This is a major mistake, however. You may find that you end up throwing away valuable items and this is the last thing you need. One way for you to work around that would be for you to price up anything you have before you throw it away. Baseball cards can be worth a lot of money and if you have a collection then you can fetch an even higher price. Things like this remain to be the best way for you to make the most out of your decluttering journey.

So as you can see, it’s more than possible for you to get a great price for your items and if you sell what you have, you may find that you are able to clear your home while getting a good cash injection. Why not take that next step today?
