Bozeman, The Best City Break You’ve Never Tried
While the state of Montana might not exactly be known for its urban living by most and is often treated specifically as a place to find gorgeous natural beauty, this is far from the truth. In fact, a destination that’s still underrated by a lot of people who wander the States, but might just be one of the coolest cities you can visit, we’re going to look at why Bozeman might be worth a closer look, whether it’s for a family vacation, romantic getaway, or something else.
Enjoy its art and culture
If you’re looking to see the creative heart of the city, there are two places in particular that you’re going to see it. The Cannery District used to be home to a canning company’s industrial works but has since become a host of boutique stores and wellness shops that are really fun to explore, including works from a lot of local creatives. The Gallatin Art Crossing Sculpture Park hosts a range of public art installations and sculptures, over 50 of them inviting you to explore, ponder, and enjoy.
Explore the streets
Bozeman is a creative, artistic town with a lot of historical buildings, not to mention little quirks like painted mailboxes scattered throughout. It is a town that is worth exploring to find all the beautiful little oddities within it, and one of the best ways to do that is through the local Scavenger Hunt. It’s a tour and a fun game wrapped into one, taking you through many of the city’s highlights, as well as some of the lesser-spotted quirks, in roughly two hours.
All kinds of great food
Aside from being a place of arts and culture, Bozeman is very much a foodie’s city, as well. The town is dotted all over with eating places, whether it’s the breakfast and brunch cafes that offer all kinds of theming and speciality foods, or the bakeries that are great for grabbing a sweet treat. When you’re looking for a little something to wet your beak while you eat, there’s a great Bozeman taproom with over 50 beers on tap to go with some delicious chicken. Whatever your tastes, the city has something for you.
Take a hike
One of the benefits of being in Montana is, of course, that you’re never too far away from great hiking trails. You don’t have to go far out of town, in fact, the M Trail is right there in town, a trek along a hillside named after the ‘M’ shape of it, which was, in fact, intentionally created. There are plenty of other hiking trails, so pick up one of the guides you’ll find at pretty much any hotel in the city to see what’s in store for those of you who like to stretch your legs.
Whether you’re looking for a city break that offers a little more depth and not as much hype, or you’re in the state and you want to see the best of what it has to offer, then you owe it to yourself to check out Bozeman.
